Welcome to our studio blog. We are 60 Year 1 and 2 ACTIVE Halswell kids who are excited about sharing our learning. We hope you enjoy our posts and we would love you to leave a comment.
This week we have been busy doing some Christmas based writing. Some children wrote about being elves and what they would do. Others designed a new form of transport for the elves to get around. The had to try and sell their design to Santa.
We have become very good at finding a sensible place to work so we can do our best writing.
If you would like to see our writing, we would love you to come into the studio so we can share it with you.

This week we have been inspired by the artist Kandinsky and his circles artwork.
On Monday morning we did a maths lesson looking at the different colour circle patterns we could make with the warm and cool colours. We used this information to make a plan of what we wanted our rainbow boards to look like.
Once our plans were done we could start painting our rainbow boards. We had to make sure we looked carefully at our plans so we knew which colours to use.
You will have to wait for our art display next Thursday to see what they look like. 😃
This morning we spent two blocks working on our art projects.
Today we could pick from CD weaving, making dream-catchers, making insects and animals out of pipe-cleaners and pom-poms, making flowers out of bottle tops and painting our paper-mache and milk bottles.
We were all super busy. It was lovely to hear children giving compliments to each other on what they were making. We also saw lots of children showing great determination.
Thank you to the Mums who came in to lend a hand!!!!!
